Cosmetic Facial Enhancements

Botox

Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles, so that they loosen. It is a purified protein which is injected into facial muscle. There is no loss of feeling in the face after the procedure. Areas in the face for which the procedure is most effective are the following: forehead, between the eyes, the corners of the eyes, and around the lips. Botox smooths the face of wrinkles, crow’s feet, and smoker’s lines or gummy smile. The effects of the procedure last three to four months, after which the patient would require retreatment.

Juvederm

Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler. It is an injection which adds volume to the facial tissue. It stimulates the production of collagen, which makes skin look rich and full. Some target areas for the procedure include the cheeks, nose, mouth, and lips.

It is one of the most commonly performed nonsurgical procedures in cosmetics. The recovery time is minimal, with few side effects – some redness and minor pain – which last only two to four weeks.

Chemical Peels

Chemical Peeling is the procedure of removing the outer layers of facial skin. This repeals the signs of aging provoked by the sun’s rays on your skin for all these years. The actual process is the application of a chemical solution, which exfoliates the facial skin. The result is smoother, albeit more sensitive skin.
